Em 11 de maio de 2019, sob um Ford Ka estacionado na esquina da Felipe Camarão com a avenida Vasco da Gama, no Bom Fim de Porto Alegre, eu encontrei um cão que veio de uma extinção.

Era sábado. Eu ia comprar pão.

A padaria fica a três quadras da nossa casa. É a padaria do português que faz o melhor pão sovado do bairro e o pior café da cidade. Eu desci o elevador às oito e meia, atravessei a Felipe Camarão, virei na esquina da Vasco da Gama, e foi quando vi.
